Understanding Network Marketing (MLM)

You have heard many times that multilevel programs are a risk to your pocket. People are afraid to engage in this kind of organization. The bad reputation is because they do not know how to differentiate MLM from pyramid schemes. But like all businesses, there are some that are reliable and others not, and this is no exception. First, you must know the background of the company before signing it. Once you have achieve the first step you must understand the main objective of  such companies, and then move to the third step, which would be how to market to achieve your goals.

Multilevel marketing (MLM) means any corporation, entity or person which distribute a product or service at a reasonable price through distributors in which the participants recruit others participants and earn commissions, as well as bonuses and discounts due to sales and recruitment of additional participants. One thing you have to understand is that MLM is about duplication. You recruit 4 people, each one of those people recruit 3 more, those 3 new people bring 3 more and so on. You get commission when you introduce people and when those people you recruit get others to sign up.

One thing about this kind of business is that you have to concentrate in selling a product and not the opportunity people can get if they join your company. I mean, you can break your neck trying to show others how good is your company, what people can achieve and the revenue opportunity they can get, but people may not trust to take the first step, they will have doubts about whether the company is legitimate or a scam. Rather, try to sell a product that is attractive and useful, it is more tempting for customers. People take more time to join an organization they merely know, than buying a product that is for their benefit. For example, I am part of a multilevel company that sells websites, if my purpose is to let people know about the organization to which I belong, it would be wiser to talk about the products, benefits and advantages.

Focus on selling your product to people who are interested. Recruiting your friends and family or trying to recruit people you barely know is not going to help you succeed in this business. People feel uncomfortable if you try to sell them a product they will not use, much less recruit them in a business they do not care. Learn the company’s product and all that has to do with the development of your organization, including the basic rules you have to apply for marketing.

Study the area in which you want to develop. Keep your eyes wide open to all kind of opportunities, because you will find some that are not as reliable. But the most important thing is do not just sit, get up, find, read, learn all that is necessary .
